Description
vlc does not work for streaming or looking at a stream unless vlc-dev is installed.
You should be able to reproduce the issue by- Create a stream this way: http://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Stream_a_DV-camera_using_vlc
- Look at the stream you just created
Everything works just fine if 'vlc-dev' is installed in both the streamer and the client.

I think this is resolved in newer alpine.
please create a new issu if it is not.
