Shorewall will soon be replaced by Alpine Wall (awall), the Alpine Linux firewall (http://wiki.alpinelinux.org/wiki/Alpine_Wall_User%27s_Guide).
Those familiar with Shorewall syntax should find it to easy to use, as it uses a very similar syntax, allowing a greater flexibility. A preliminary version of awall can be found in edge/main repo.
In edge/testing repo there's a newer shorewall version available (4.4.21).

- Target version set to Alpine 2.5.0
The main reason we have not upgraded shorewall is that we have used shorewall-shell and newer versions depends on perl. (shell version of shorewall is discontinued)
Once we figured out how to not break things for current shorewall-shell users we can upgrade shorewall to latest for those who prefers shorewall.
