autofs4 module kernel is not loading
I’ve installed 3.8 permanently on RPi 3B+, now I’m trying to load docker which depends on cgroups which depends on lxcfs, I’ve tried loading lxcfs and discovered that although autofs4 is not blacklisted I can’t load this kernel module.
I ran modprobe autofs4
, no output as if the command succeeded (the
exit code was 0), looking at lsmod
shows it wasn’t (I could load
fuse
but not autofs4
).
Tried searching for the autofs4.ko file inside /lib/modules/…/kernel/fs/autofs4, no directory and no file.
I copied the file by downloading vanilla-kernel apk, untar, ungzip, copied the files in place, then tried again, same results.
Inside /lib/modules/…/modules.builtin I found the reference, I also
looking inside the kernel config inside the /boot/
directory, the
option CONFIG_AUTOFS4_FS=y
appears there.
I tried everything I’m familiar with, am I missing something?

- Revision c0513a03 on 2018-08-30T14:58:34Z:
community/lxcfs: Modprobe modules instead of failing when absent
Previously, lxcfs failed when the kernel modules were not listed the lsmod
output. Built-in kernel modules never show up in lsmod, thus the service
could not be properly started on such systems.
Fixes #9214.
