The package is fine, but the files path is diferent from the english audio
files:

The english path is:
/usr/sounds/en/us/callie/

The english path is:
/usr/sounds/src/es/mx/maria/

so, must be moved from:
/usr/sounds/src/es/mx/maria/
to
/usr/sounds/es/mx/maria/

I did a little script to trasnform 44100 to 8000, will add in the wiki
page, in my notes.

freeswitch-sounds-es-mx-maria-44100 is already in edge/testing - Daniel,
can you test and provide feedback whether it's ok, then it could be moved
to main? Also, the same sounds except in 8000hz were requested in
http://bugs.alpinelinux.org/issues/823 so you know.

Will take a look at the portaudio module.

It would be nice to have the portaudio module, which is part of original
package. It might help to use the audio port to do audio streaming using
freeswitch.

I hope you can add too, the "freeswitch-sounds-es-mx-maria-44100.tar.gz"
or other spanish audio packages.

Can you add that improvements please?

The audio package is fine now, the files path (/usr/sounds/es/mx/maria/) is now correct, after donwnloaded and tested all looks fine.
