Move from OpenSSL to LibreSSL
In my opinion it would be a good idea to move from OpenSSL to LibreSSL for the next major release (3.4.0). There are some distribution that already use LibreSSL by default (e.g. void linux). The Gentoo developers also started working on support for LibreSSL. LibreSSL has some advantages over OpenSSL that would make it a better choice for alpine: a) It’s a smaller since they removed a lot of code and b) you could argue that it is more secure than OpenSSL because in this year many of the OpenSSL CVEs didn’t apply to LibreSSL.
