Description

Grub could be upgraded to the released version of 2.02, dated 26th April 2017 from the site, ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/grub/
Main Repository is currently 2.02_beta3, dated 28th Feb 2016, from the site ftp://alpha.gnu.org/gnu/grub

Unfortunately the patches don't work and I'm sorry I'm not skillful enough to solve that myself.

For the current grub-2.02_beta3-r7, I don't believe the Doc package, grub-doc-2.02_beta3-r7, is being build correctly.

Sorry, I don't understand, or have I not explained correctly?
Current Alpine version is still 3.6.1, but an apk upgrade as delivered a Grub 2.02 with still the underlying grub source as 2.02~beta3
My intention was that Alpine's Grub be upgraded to Grub's released version of 2.02
Thx

You are right, sorry. I got tricked by the way they set the version in APKBUILD. Will try fix it asap.
